The Mobility Garage is a development, play and test area for new, environmentally friendly and inclusive mobility concepts. Here, the question of what the mobility of the future may look like is to be explored from various points of view. Both inner-city topics (Chemnitz – (non)-car city of the future?) as well as the connection of the region or ecological travel can be discussed and in parts also piloted here. The garage is intended to support the development of new technologies (autonomous driving) and devices (drones, robots), ecological means of transport (cargo bike, e-scooter) as well as aids for people with disabilities. It also establishes new connections and uses (drones as flying artwork, bikes generate electricity) in interaction with other elements of the campus. The garage is also a testing ground for model projects, allowing new concepts to be safely tried out and experienced by visitors at an early stage.
