Dance like Cinderella

On January 16, 2026, the dance floor opens at Garagen-Campus Chemnitz!
The Cinderella Square Dance Club Chemnitz e.V. invites everyone to an open Square Dance taster session in our Creative Workshop. Curious visitors are warmly welcome to discover this unique form of dance – no prior experience needed.
What is Square Dance?
Square Dance is a lively group dance in Western style that combines movement, music, and concentration. Dancing takes place in so-called squares: four couples form a square and are guided by a caller. The caller calls out figures to the music, constantly changing the positions of the couples, before eventually returning to the original square formation.
The special thing about Square Dance: because dancers follow the caller’s instructions, there’s no need to memorize entire choreographies. In a beginner course, all the necessary figures are taught step by step – making it perfect for newcomers.
Who is the taster session for?
Square Dance is open to everyone.
Whether you come alone, with friends, or as a couple – everyone dances together. Dance partners are regularly switched, which creates a friendly, social atmosphere and ensures a relaxed, welcoming experience.

For over 30 years, the Cinderella Square Dance Club Chemnitz e.V. has offered Square Dance as a hobby for people in Chemnitz. The club combines physical activity with community, fun, and music – and is always happy to welcome new faces.
