Theatre by the Prague group “Laughing Beasts”

On May 8th, we warmly invite you to the theatre!
The Czech theatre group explores and questions the idea of capitalism in their play, critically engaging with issues of social injustice. The result is a socially critical performance shaped by self-irony and biting humor. The play will be performed in Czech with German surtitles and is an original work by contemporary Czech playwright Roman Sikora.

Plot

The protagonist of this dark comedy is Mr. M., a cunning banker who ruthlessly sells bad loans to his clients. After an accident and subsequent medical treatment cause him to lose all his property, he ends up homeless. But even on the street, he continues to apply the market principles of free competition and founds a university where he teaches other homeless people about team building and coaching. In this satire, director Michal Hába shows how the principles of capitalism can dehumanize our society.

Admission is free, and we welcome donations. All proceeds go directly to the participating artists and actors of the production.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the performance begins at 7:00 PM in our main workshop (signs will be posted on-site).
Our bar will be open with refreshing drinks available.
