About the Exhibition
Stories of Muslim–Jewish alliances and diverse cultures of remembrance have so far received little public attention. Discussions about relations between Muslims and Jews are often marked by stereotypes, a sense of powerlessness, and social tensions.
The exhibition “Untold Stories of Togetherness” addresses this gap by guiding visitors through forgotten, suppressed, and overwritten Muslim–Jewish connections. It tells of social imbalances, friendships and fleeting encounters, continuities and ruptures—and sheds light on what is often overlooked when discussing Muslim–Jewish relations.
As part of an academy program, four Jewish and four Muslim artists explored themes of alliances and remembrance culture:
What is remembered? Which perspectives are included? Who decides what becomes part of our collective memory?
The artistic contributions offer diverse responses:

enter into dialogue with one another and open new perspectives on shared history and the present.
Background
The exhibition was developed within the framework of the academy “Untold Stories of Togetherness”, a mentoring project of the Junge Islam Konferenz (Young Islam Conference) within the Young Postmigrant Alliances program area of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe.
The project is funded by the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie.
